Pediatric Dentists

Dr. Margolis   |   Dr. Lin   |  Dr. Talati

Drs. Margolis, Lin and Talati treat each child as if they were their own.

Fred S. Margolis, D.D.S.

We love kids!  By making dentistry fun for them, we feel that we’re starting kids on the road to good dental health... and a lifetime of beautiful smiles.  We enjoy being able to calm a child’s fears and make him or her feel good about going to the dentist.

Thousands of Buffalo Grove, Illinois children know him as “Uncle Fred.”  That’s because, just like a lovable uncle, he’s able to calm a child’s fears.  Dr. Margolis makes those children feel good about going to the dentist. And those good feelings can result in a lifetime of good dental habits.

While Dr. Margolis has been adding that element of fun to pediatric dentistry in Buffalo Grove, Illinois for 25 years, that’s not all he does. He teaches pediatric and laser dentistry at Loyola University and the University of Illinois. He’s written many professional and lay publications, including the book, “Beautiful Smiles for Special People,” a guide for dental professionals on how to treat disabled children and adults. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, has been President of the Illinois Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped, been staff dentist for Glenkirk Foundation and is the Chairman of the Chicago Special Olympics/Special Smiles program. Dr. Margolis is on the medical-dental staff at Northwest Community and Loyola University Hospitals.

Remember, your child’s first visit to the dentist is often the most important one. If the visit is pleasant and enjoyable, your child will feel better about seeing the dentist regularly. “Uncle Fred” will take care of your child’s dental needs while making the visit fun.

George Lin, D.D.S.

It takes more than technical skill to be a good children’s dentist. It takes compassion and commitment. George Lin has those traits in abundance. While making your child — and you — comfortable, he gets your child off on the right path to dental health.

Dr. Lin earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and completed his general practice residency in 1997 at the University of California at San Francisco. He went on to complete his Pediatric Dentistry training at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and is currently on staff at Northwest Community Hospital and Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago.

Dr. Lin is the team sports dentist for the Wheeling High School Football team and since 1999, has served as a dental consultant at Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago and at the Cleft Lip and Palate Institute.

“Dr. George”, as his young patients call him, loves working with Buffalo Grove children to make their smiles brighter. And you’ll love the skill and compassion that mark his work.

Anjali Talati, D.M.D.

Dr. Anjali earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Florida. She completed a two year general practice residency at Staten Island University hospital in New York and also completed her two year specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the same hospital. Dr Anjali is certified in Laser Dentistry. She feels that the laser has made dental visits for young patients more comfortable and pleasant.

Dr. Anjali loves working with children. Her training in New York has given her wide range of experiences in treating very young children as well as those with a diverse medical background. She uses child friendly terminology and is committed to providing her patients with a fun and gentle experience. Her goal is to work alongside with the parents to ensure healthy and beautiful smiles. She especially enjoys helping her initially anxious younger patients transform into kids who are happy and eager to see their dentist again. She believes in developing a strong foundation in oral health at an early age, with a smooth transition into maintaining excellent dental habits that will last a lifetime.

Dr. Anjali often volunteers her time through various outreach programs providing dental care to individuals without access to care. While in New York she volunteered every year at the 'Give Kids a Smile!' day performing dental screenings, placing sealants and performing fluoride treatments.

Dr. Anjali is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association and the Chicago Dental society. In her leisure time she enjoys rollerblading, biking and traveling with her husband.
